Jeremy Ranch owners wanted to expand and add a few new rooms on to their existing house. The first part of the project involved adding a much-needed mud room to contain the families outdoor gear. PJ Builders built-out a custom room with closets and plenty of storage areas. The final touch on the mudroom project was adding a hand-crafted barn door that could be shut to separate the mudroom/gear room from the main living area.
The second phase of the project consisted of creating an open floor plan; blending the kitchen and dining room would into an area where everyone could hang out when meals were being prepared. The kitchen has large counter tops and plenty of storage for all the chef’s needs. A full wall of windows was added to ensure that the commonly used space was flooded with natural light. When adding an addition on to an existing house it is necessary to add some key features of the original part of the home to help tie in the new space. Hardwood floors and medal railings were included in the new additions to reflect those elements of the existing part of the home.
