Pete Olson, founder of PJ Builders, is a man of form, function, and craft. After studying civil engineering and gaining a mastery of rough and finish carpentry, he adds a level of forethought and realism to the logistical navigation associated with general contracting. He’s made a name for himself though his Historic renovations in Old Town, which is comparable to building in Manhattan. After successfully facing those challenges for years, his craft and demand for quality shows effortlessly in his Custom home builds.
A Milwaukee native, Douglas hitched a ride with a friend who was driving to Park City and never moved back. A 25-year veteran of the building industry, he joined PJ Builders as a carpenter in 2011. His lifelong dream of someday building his own home initially got him interested in his craft. And now he is actually building his dream house in Hawaii when not hard at work on PJ Builders’ Park City projects.
Douglas’ mom raised both him and his brother on her own, making her his greatest inspiration. He measures success by ending each day with all 10 fingers intact.
PJ Builders’ essential Office Manager since 2013 when she moved to Park City, Dianne is from Austin, Texas. It was her husband’s job that brought them to Park City, which she blissfully refers to as “paradise” for its laid back, outdoorsy culture.
Dianne enjoys her role as the number cruncher at PJ Builders and keeps the business organized and running smoothly. Her definition of success is to achieve her goals at “the end of the path.”
When not running the office, Dianne’s pursuits include alpine skiing, hiking, biking, supporting her three children in their endeavors, and most of all, adventures with Big Al.
Pamela Alford brings many decades of event and film production savvy to her role as marketing director at PJ Builders.
She uses her strong sense of timing to seize opportunities to elevate the brand’s awareness and maintains zeal for both design and practicality.
In addition to her ability to manage a strong team of people and her ability to concisely communicate, she has a salty sense of humor that keeps her co-workers and family full of laughter. She enjoys traveling, working in the yard, and giving back to the Park City community.
Born and raised in Massachusetts as the son of a state building inspector, the ability to construct in a level and sturdy manner runs in Averill Homes’ blood. After serving stateside for eight years with the United States Naval Construction Battalions, better known as the Seabees, he followed his new bride to the Beehive State to be closer to her family in Heber City.
Averill first learned of PJ Builders from a local catalogue he picked up during his first week in Utah. PJ seemed to complement his desire to be a part of a team known for exceptional quality. Although the company was not openly hiring, he found its small Park City office and slipped his resume under the door. He was subsequently hired and ,has been part of the team since 2017. Averill’s “can do” attitude can by summarized by his motto developed during his time as a Seabee: “With willing hearts and skillful hands, the difficult we do at once, the impossible takes a bit longer.”
When not working with the PJ Builders team on its latest and greatest projects, he can be found hiking in the Uintas, skiing McConkey’s at Park City Mountain, cooking a new creation in the kitchen, or hanging curtains for his mother-in-law.
Moving to the area from his home state of Vermont in 2005, Riley has lived and matured in Park City over the last 14 years. Like so many ski bums before him, this Green Mountain kid has managed to turn a ski season into a permanent home away from home. Driven by adventure and the outdoors, Riley enjoys a variety of activities involving fresh air, friends and adrenaline. When not working and learning with the PJ Builders team, he will be found mountain biking, skiing powder, traveling, camping and surfing all with his trusty companion dog, Floyd. Riley’s favorite outdoor activity is freeride mountain biking throughout Utah and in the famous Whistler Bike Park, to which he makes the Canadian migration each fall for pure loam freedom. Riley looks forward to making a lasting impression within the PJ Builders family through a positive attitude, a budding passion for the industry and high-end customer service, all while creating artistic homes of quality and design.
